How points work#
Points are the only currency inside 9Hits: you earn points by running the 9Hits Viewer app to view other people's campaigns, then spend those same points to have other people view your campaigns. This page explains where points come from, how many points a view is worth, why the amount you receive is almost always different from the amount the campaign owner is charged, and how to transfer points to another account.
Where points come from#
Points reach your account from these sources:
- Running Viewer. This is the main source. Each valid view adds points to your account based on your earn rate (see below).
- Buying points. Buy them directly in the dashboard Shop. Prices are tiered: the more you buy, the lower the unit price.
- Bonus points for upgrading. Upgrade to Premium or VIP to receive bonus points every month.
- Achievements and leaderboards. Reaching cumulative view milestones unlocks achievement tiers, each with bonus points (the two highest tiers reward VIP months instead of points). The top 3 on the weekly leaderboard get VIP days, not points - but a higher plan raises your earn rate, so it still indirectly affects how many points you earn.
- Transfers from other members. Points can be transferred between accounts for a fee (see Transfer points to others).
Bonus points on upgrade and the recurring monthly bonus:
| Plan | Bonus points on upgrade | Monthly bonus points |
|---|---|---|
| Premium | 100,000 | 100,000 |
| VIP | 500,000 | 500,000 |
How many points a view is worth#
The basic rule is simple: 1 point is roughly 1 second of viewing. A full view is worth as many points as the campaign's view duration in seconds.
If the campaign has popups turned on, one view can count up to duration x (1 + number of popups),
because each popup is also a page that is opened and actually viewed.
You cannot set just any view duration. Every plan has a floor of 30 seconds, and the ceiling depends on the plan:
| Item | Regular | Premium | VIP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Campaign slots included | 3 | 10 | 30 |
| Custom user-agent lines (all groups combined) | None | 100 | 1,000 |
| Referrer / campaign | None | 50 | 100 |
| Max popups / campaign | None | 1 | 3 |
| Max view duration (seconds) | 60 | 300 | 600 |
| Min view duration (seconds) | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| Base earn rate | x0.75 | x0.9 | x1 |
| Max quality session bonus | +0.1 | +0.1 | +0.1 |
A longer duration makes each view last longer but also spends points faster, so the same balance buys fewer views.
Earn rate for Viewer users#
You rarely receive the full points of a view. What you actually get is view points x earn rate.
The earn rate starts from a base value set by your plan:
| Plan | Base earn rate |
|---|---|
| REGULAR | x0.75 |
| PREMIUM | x0.9 |
| VIP | x1 |
Session quality then adds to or subtracts from that number. The system grades two separate
categories - machine performance and connection speed - each from rejected to good, and
the deductions add up:
| Condition | Effect on the rate |
|---|---|
Performance or speed graded rejected |
Earn rate drops to 0; the campaign owner's pay rate becomes 0.1 |
Grade low (slow) |
-0.2 |
Grade medium (average) |
-0.1 |
Grade good |
no deduction |
| Session runs through a proxy | -0.1 |
Fully good session: performance good, speed good, no proxy |
+0.1 |
What the campaign owner pays#
On the other side, the campaign owner's pay rate starts at 1.0 and gets exactly the same
adjustments as in the table above: grade low subtracts 0.2, grade medium subtracts 0.1, a proxy
subtracts 0.1, and a fully good session adds 0.1. The only difference is the rejected grade: a
rejected session drops the earn rate to 0, but the campaign owner still pays 0.1, because the page
was actually opened.
Transfer points to others#
The https://dash.9hits.com/transfer page lets you transfer points to another account. This transfers points, not money, so the recipient uses those points to run campaigns and cannot withdraw them.
Requirement: both the sender and the recipient must be PREMIUM or VIP, unexpired, and still active.
The default fee is 10%, taken out of the amount you send: send 100 points and the recipient gets 90.
To transfer points from a script instead of by hand, use the transfer action of the
points transfer API.
